Is the Business of Sport, Business As Usual?

On Thursday 12th July, we opened the doors of our London HQ and welcomed guests to ‘Is the Business of Sport, Business as Usual?’, to discuss what the future looks like for the rapidly changing landscape of the sports industry.

Award winning sport and business journalist Richard Gillis, hosted a panel of sporting experts, including Marc Makowski (Director Business Development Football, adidas), James Murray (Head of Business Strategy, Arsenal F.C), Shara Tochia (Co-Founder, DOSE), Tim Hulbert (Managing Director, Group Head of Brand Insight, Barclays), Nico Tuppen (Managing Director, iris Sport).

Over the course of the evening, our panel covered topics such as the future of sport sponsorship and broadcasting, evolving business models, the impact of millennials and new technology and most importantly; the gender inequality in sport.

It was an evening of highly charged debate and we’d like to thank everyone that was able to take part in the discussion. Check out the highlights from the event below.

As a result of the passionate responses sparked by the gender inequality debated – we are pleased to announce a second ‘Business of Sport’ event will be taking place this November – focusing solely on the issue.
