The results of the fourth annual Agency-Marketer Partnership Awards, recognizing Asia-Pacific’s most effective client-agency relationships, are in.
While speed, efficiency and effectiveness have become even more critical for brands to succeed in these challenging times, the benefits of a strong client and agency relationship mean that creativity and bravery doesn’t suffer – and new ideas can bring a new level of insight and intelligence to the strategy. This award, in partnership with Campaign Asia and The Observatory aims to showcase the global and regional partnerships that have delivered outstanding work and sustainable ROI over time — ultimately bringing the importance and value of the client-agency relationship to the forefront.
In the words of our CEO and co-founder Ian Millner; ‘partnership is a word used often by many, but meant by very few’. Which is why we are extremely proud to say that the iris network features not once, but TWICE on the winners list – taking Gold and Silver awards for our best relationships in the region, making iris the only network (and the first network) to win twice in one year.
The biggest congratulations are in order to our winning teams!
iris Jakarta and Guinness have brought home a Multi-Agency Gold award for the ‘Batik Fridays’ campaign. Our team in Indonesia led a multi-agency roster that also included BBDO Indonesia, Carat Indonesia, DesignBridge Singapore (responsible for bottle design and pre-production), and PT. DIMA Indonesia, the brand's distributor in Indonesia.
Guinness Batik Fridays celebrates the unique Indonesian heritage of Batik as a representative of the diverse and yet distinctive cultural identity of Indonesia. Putting a brand lens on the cultural relevance of Batik, the campaign aims to create more occasions for Indonesians to get together and celebrate.
The campaign involved three Limited Edition Indonesia Packs which delved into the symbolism of Batik Motif’s of (Naga) Pride as one Nation, (Garuda) Unity in diversity, (Kala) Nation with Timeless heritage.
Maneha Widarso, Director of Operations iris Jakarta said: “This win is a testimony to the relationship between Guinness and iris Jakarta and we are truly honoured to receive this award. The partnership between iris Jakarta and Guinness in Indonesia extends to beyond producing outstanding creative work. It also includes creating an effective working environment with other agencies as well as building a relationship with DIMA, the Guinness distributor. We are committed to further enhancing and building this relationship and producing amazing results together”.
iris Singapore and Shell have brought home a Single Agency Silver award for Shell Advance. And not only that, at this moment in time, iris Singapore is the ONLY agency to have won the award twice, having won it two years ago with Philips. The entry celebrated iris Singapore’s partnership with Shell as a whole, as well as a number of campaigns raising awareness and consideration of its Shell Advance range of premium motorcycle and scooter lubricants. Thanks to open and frank discussions, and a partnership based on challenging each other, the results are speaking for themselves.
Mark Hadfield, Regional Planning Director APAC, iris: “Our relationship with the Shell Advance team is going from strength to strength and we’re hoping this is only part of the journey. Due to our mutually beneficial relationship based on trust, challenge and collaboration, we’ve managed to create several strong campaigns already – with more being worked on at the moment. But crucially, due to this partnership, we’ve helped our friends at Shell increase their volumes drastically.”
