SAMSUNG X ROYAL BLOOD

Experiential Marketing Strategy

When it came to hero handset launches for Samsung we had experience breaking out of category focused media, instead generating hype & buzz in popular culture with millennial minded masses. But for the revolutionary new S8, we needed to find another level of ambition & sophistication…

The result? An innovative and visually insane exclusive live return of top UK rock lads, Royal Blood – the first chance to watch them play tracks from ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ anywhere in the world.

The gig, hosted in an abandoned concrete theatre, was attended by 400 competition winning fans and live streamed in 360 4K as part of a Facebook/ YouTube/ Periscope takeover. All from a specially created stage featuring LED floor, light projections and mirrored ceilings to give a sense of ‘infinity space’, in line with the new S8’s infinity screen. The thousands watching online would experience the gig from the centre of the stage, as a 3rd member of the band.

We commissioned live music multi camera Director, Sam Wrench to creatively direct the show and execute the live stream elements through creative & production services company &SON STUDIO. Wrench worked alongside show design studio Bryte Design, a collaborator on gigs such as Vevo Presents The Weeknd & Vevo Presents Ariana Grande.
